Domestic violence is considered as a social and legal concept that, within the widest sense, refers to any abuse which can be physical, emotional, sexual, or financial between intimate partners, typically existing within the same house. The term is commonly used just to label physical assaults upon women by their male partners, and sometime the victim can also be a male abused by his feminine partner, therefore this may be used as a concerning abuse of both women and men by same-sex partners. Offenders of domestic violence are from all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Sometimes effect of alcohol and medicines contribute to the matter of domestic violence too.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown is there to ease the unfold of the pandemic, as the blowout of the pandemic causes the social isolation, reduction in social web with this it has also inflated cases of domestic violence. Covid-19 is an shock that\'s considerably affecting the occurrence of domestic violence in the world. whereas no one had foreseen that the globe would see such a rise in cases, it\'s time for enforcement in the organizations, governments, and society, in general to return along to style effective ways to combat the adverse consequences of Covid-19 on domestic violence.

Being limited to home as a result of corona virus is troublesome for everybody, however it becomes more difficult for feminine victims, because of a flow in this cases it is requested to the governments to attend and help in such problems even in this lockdown measures. In countries like France and Italy measures are taken by the government to help the ladies from such abuse with social distancing.

Countries across the planet are fighting against Covid-19 by ratifying measures like national isolations, border closings, online work, and by closing educational institutions to control the speed of spread of the disease. Moreover, Covid-19 has an effect on the families, relationships, and societies in extraordinary ways. Covid-19 is knocking societies to the extent that goes overhead and outside political leadership, health care organization, social care structures, and international solidarity. One such important effect that\'s currently being felt to an extent is that the increase in domestic violence cases during the lockdown period.

Although the lockdowns and movement limitations orders by countries across the world helped to reduce the infection rate of Covid-19, but with this domestic abuse is acting like a pathetic situation and booming by day to day in the present situation. The social isolation is like a chance utilized by abusers to distance victims from their source by which they can get help, currently the physical separation is a government-sanctioned tactic which is an opportunity for the abuser. With this all the sources and funds are allotted to help the lives of COVID-19 patients additionally the volunteers who can provide help in this has also reduced. It\'s seen that cases of force have redoubled considerably owing to this reasons.

Reasons of the Rise in Domestic Violence Due to Covid-19:-

As known by social science and gender literature, there is an equation of relationships, which implies that, once family member start to spend more time together, violence may occur without any specific cause as per the human psychology, and because of this lockdown all the family members are living together which is creating more compatibility problem leading to the domestic violence. However, Covid-19 will be thought of to be an indirect causer of violence. As infection because of Covid-19 is increasing, countries were forced to a position where limits are lay down on the aspects of movement, loss of jobs, and income causing financial emergency. Study says that low financial gain will increase in violence.

Firstly, even if a family doesn\'t have a record of abuse or financial distress, throughout the situation because of money strain and an absence of social support, it will encourage violence. Even in high-stress levels among spouses increase the rise of violence. 

Secondly, domestic violence is also driven by a shift in responsibilities or by the changes in the responsibilities .Once victims are with offensive partners, there\'s a chance for abusers to harass them. Analysis has urged that this situation raised up by rare events like families living in an isolated or in distant areas which shut the contact for a long time. This lessens the safe time and will increase the probabilities of the occurring of domestic violence.

Third, this type of violence could occur as the rate of interaction increases and because of spending more time together, people get to know numerous habits which is not a factor of companionable with each other in a family setup, which is also a reason for domestic violence.

Remedies and Measures:-

If someone commits domestic violence then as per Section 498 A the wrongdoer will be punished up to three years beside a fine determined by the court. This could be done on the grounds of cruelty that can be of mental, physical, financial, emotional or spoken hurt. Coercion, dowry harassment and encouragement to suicide are included in this too. Cruelty beneath section 498 is outlined as any person, may be the husband or any of the relative of the husband of a woman,  who will causes cruelty will be penalized with imprisonment which can extend up to three years and is also liable to fine.

The government has some helping counselling centers for such people who are going through this, wherever required they can just approach. The NGOs ought to take this issue seriously as it isn\'t simply a virulent disease which will hurt the humanity; it is the humans who are harming one another.

The police stations are there to support the person suffering and file an FIR against such wrongdoers without creating excuses. The ladies who are facing this mustn\'t feel that they\'re helpless. Awareness concerning Domestic violence Laws ought to be unfold amongst the general public so the note might reach those who are assaulting their relations.

With this we people in the society need to take care of it with compliance to the measures of covid-19 situation. And by well awareness and care we can handle the domestic violence with the situation of Covid-19.
