Prateek Arora : Tell me about yourself in brief.
Dr. Neeta Beri : Myself Dr Nita Beri I am a Dean of Chanderprabhu Jain College of Higher Studies & School of Law (CPJCHS-SOL), CPJCHS-SOL is an institution where lots of intelligent students one like Prateek study and are currently working in shaping up their skills to compete with the world and bring glory to their name and brings a lot of laurels to the college name and are proud to be associated with the CPJ.
We also provide such competitive students the Stage to sharp their skills and thus to show their level of competence.

Prateek Arora : What is the importance of study of Socio-Legal issues in legal field?
Dr. Neeta Beri : I personally field that studying Socio Legal issues in legal field is prime important and that why we emphasize more in our students as they use to know and became aware about the problems that society is facing in large and thus they can thus may pay special attention to the society at large and for their welfare an well being of the society and for the upliftment of the poor sections of the society.
I also think that Studying Socio Legal issues in legal field is also important as it continuously reminds one the socio legal problems that one faces and continuously helps the law student to work for their betterment.

Prateek Arora : Tell me about your initiatives in legal aid & awareness field as a professor.
Dr. Neeta Beri : Our College has continuously organizes various legal aid camps and has also been part of several lok adalats and our college has constantly has been organizing the free legal aid to the poor and needy continuously throughout and our college team is proud of the fact to have been serving for the betterment of the poor and needy people who are in search of a legal assistance but due to the fact of their economical situations are unable to get one.

Prateek Arora : Tell me your students’ initiatives in legal aid, awareness, socio-legal issues.
Dr. Neeta Beri : Even our students have also taken an active role and have brought forward and have come forward to serve to the poor and needy people with their active participation in all such activities.

Prateek Arora : What is the role of Government in legal aid & awareness in India?
Dr. Neeta Beri : Government can thus also play a influential role in the legal aid & awareness in India as by making more statues in assisting the needs of the poor people pertaining to the legal assistance as those backward classes are unable to get them the basic legal requirements which have ought to be provided and thus as a result that several under trial prisoners are thus are thee behind the bars as they are unable to get a legal assistant for them even in the cases where the punishment is not of a serious in nature.
Then in those cases government can thus do wonders in providing them with advocates, making them aware about their legal, fundamental rights and also thus provides them the basic knowledge of the current present available rights to them.

Prateek Arora : What are your views on present situation of legal aid and awareness initiatives in India?
Dr. Neeta Beri : I think present situation of legal aid and awareness initiatives in India are appropriate in nature as we are thus going in the correct direction even though there are appropriate legislation to provide the poor with the legal assistance I think the qualitative assistance is lacking a bit.
I think more and more practising advocates should come forward and thus spend their time in not their development  but for the development but for the upliftment of the poor and needy people.
I also think that the current legal awareness is blessed with the appropriate legislation for the legal awareness and for legal aid but I think the problem if lies in somewhere then it is thus in the effective implementation of the current statues.

Prateek Arora : What are your views on effectiveness of Legal Service Authority Act, 1987?
Dr. Neeta Beri : I think present situation of legal aid and awareness initiatives in India under the current Legal Service Authority Act 1987 are appropriate in nature as we are thus going in the correct direction even though there are appropriate legislation to provide the poor with the legal assistance I think the qualitative assistance is lacking a bit.
The only problem as per my understanding of law is lies in the lack of the Qualitative pleaders.

Prateek Arora : What are your views on present situation of Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in India?
Dr. Neeta Beri : PIL has also worked wonder in ensuring the betterment of the poor and the underprivileged peoples in providing them with the basic rights provided to them by the virtue of the constitution of India.
I think present situation of legal aid and awareness initiatives in India are appropriate after the introduction of the PIL in nature as we are thus going in the correct direction even though there are appropriate legislation to provide the poor with the legal assistance.
I think more and more practising advocates should come forward although the gambit of the PIL filed in the courts are alarming and are in huge numbers and thus the more and more advocates should come forward and should not think of their Development but for the development  or for the upliftment of the poor and needy people.

Prateek Arora : What advise you would like to give to the future Advocates/Professors/Scholars with regards to socio-legal issues, legal aid and awareness initiatives?
Dr. Neeta Beri : I advise to all the Future Advocates to work hard and thus to study more adequately and indepth and thus to try to serve the poor and needy people as they should initially in their early years of their professional life should thus develop a sense of morality towards the underprivileged peoples as this is the one of the toughest field to be in and thus when one have done the hard work then thus it is the heaven for them as the level of the competence they will have are next to no one and thus in other words are unmatchable.
What I am trying to say that first undergo the pain as the pain is temporary but the class is permanent so thus you will be surely be enjoying the fruits of your hard work you have put in.
