Sustainability in Sustainable Development vis-a-vis Solid Waste Management

The onset of industrialization and unplanned urbanization has given rise to the solid waste in India. The term solid waste management mainly refers to the complete process of collecting, treating and disposing of the solid wastes. The non- segregation of waste at source is the major issue that come forward while managing the solid waste. Due to improper disposal of the solid waste, the collected wastes gets heap up and as a result of that environment get deteriorated. The most pertinent issue in the country is not given importance. The present article is an attempt to give basic understanding of current situation of generation, disposal and complexity in management of solid waste in the country.
