Animal testing has played an important role in the field of science and the medical industry. It has helped the human civilization to cure disease and to suffer less. This article talks about all the possible questions that arise when we talk about the very debatable topic that is animal testing. It covers all the questions like is it morally or ethically right to kill animals for the million benefits of human civilization. It questions the moral status of animals with that of humans. It also talks about the doctrine of 3 R’s that is replace, reduce and refine. Research involving the use of animal experimentation has contributed to 70 percent of Nobel Prizes in Medicine. This also shows that half of the earth surviving is because of animal experimentation. Animal used for research gives hope to people suffering from diseases like cancer, heart attacks, etc. Animal research has lead to the development of human biology and health. Contradicting to idea, it also argues from the other side that the fundamental interests of those animals are not suffering and dying. Animal testing is a punishing and out-of-date method that unnecessarily pains and kills animals. The animal care committee should additionally confirm the acceptable sample sizes and procedures to be utilized in the experiment. The objective of this study is also to talk about the alternative methods that can be used. The “bottom line” for the center ground position is that animal experimentation ought to be avoided whenever attainable in favor of other analysis methods. The study answers the question in context to the present scenario as science and technology are not developed enough, animal experiments can bring many benefits to human beings that many other methods such as artificial organs or computer simulation cannot do. We are equal to animals, but animal experiments can bring benefits not only to humans but also to animals. Considering the present scenario and its dynamics, it is impossible to ban animal testing as of now.
