The following is a brief case analysis of the case titled State of Himachal Pradesh V. Umed Ram Sharma (AIR 1986 SC 847). This is an appeal case where the Himachal Pradesh High court’s order was questioned on whether High courts have power to issue prerogative writ and direct the state government to do some act, particularly directing the government to do some acts with regards to financial budgeting under Article- 226 of the Indian constitution.
