The following is a brief case analysis of the case titled Kantaru Rajeevaru V. Indian Young Lawyers Association also known as Sabarimala review petition. The case mainly deals on the legal issue of whether the Supreme Court can refer the cases to review to larger bench, relating to the questioning of law. This paper talks about the rights and powers exercised by the Supreme court under Article 142 of the Constitution of India to deal with the Sabarimala issue. The issue was raised after the 2018 Sabarimala judgement. The judgement on lifting up the restrictions on women of menstruating age from entering the Sabarimala temple in Kerala and against this judgement multiple review petitions were filed on various grounds including the issue raised by the members that there were some errors in the judgement. Later it was decided that there was a need for review and also the bench headed by Justice Bobde specified the reason for directing towards the case to be reviewed by a larger bench. This paper also talks about the Articles and Legal aspects that support the Supreme Court’s decision and reasoning on the case and also the need for review.This is a landmark case which talks about Article 25- Right of every citizen to practice their religion and Article 26- Freedom of religious groups to establish their own laws and practices.
