Participating in the 3rd A P J Abdul Kalam Socio-Legal film Making competition has been a wonderful part of my learning. While preparing for the competition it lead me towards different ideas, areas of my topic which made me realize there is so much to understand and so much to gain from our own country. Also, I realized that I have a hidden artist inside me who can actually come up with camera and a concept for the audience. Really grateful for the organizers to plan something for the students around the globe. Thank you so much. I\'ll keep participating.

Sayan Basak

Intern & Student of B.Tech Department Of Polymer Science and Technology, University Of Calcutta

Experience :

Frankly speaking, it\'s seems quite odd that a student from technology background is doing a content writing internship with a legal institution. Yes, indeed it\'s an anomaly. But few anomalies are yet too beautiful to express. I loved the topic of law. Being from a technological background, I never viewed law as a subject to study but as a subject of interest.

An year back, when I had joined probono, Dr. Gupta asked me to write an article on a socio legislative affair. Yes it was something novel for me. Something which was very different from my niche. I still remember asking sir what books to read for reference along with the journal papers. Twelve months down the line, I had penned down 6 articles along with a research paper. The credit goes to the entire team along with sir for having the patience and believing in me. Probono India has not only given me the platform to rediscover myself but also has given me the platform to express myself.

I am just not an intern. Here, at Probono, I am an intern with rejuvenating dreams. Probono, India is just not an organisation. It is an institute for me which had taught me not to let the expectations and opinions of other people affect your decisions. It\'s your life, not theirs. Do what matters most to you; do what makes you feel alive and happy. Don\'t let the expectations and ideas of others limit who you are. If you let others tell you who you are, you are living their reality — not yours. There is more to life than pleasing people. There is much more to life than following others\' prescribed path. There is so much more to life than what you experience right now. You need to decide who you are for yourself. Become a whole being. Adventure.

Thank you Probono India

Pritam Ghosh

Experience :

It was a wonderful experience judging the 1st A P J Abdul Kalam International Socio-legal Film making competition. All entries were extremely close to reality, innovative and creative as well. Entries were on contemporary issues which were extremely relevant in increasing public awareness about ongoing socio-legal issues. The top 5 entries stood out from other entries in terms of their content, style of presentation, picturization and conceptual clarity.

I look forward to being a part of the panel in future as well and wish all the best to the organizers in all their future endeavours including in organizing the successive editions of this competition.

Ashish Gupta

Student of B.A. LL.B (Hons.) CPJCHS & SOL, New Delhi

Experience :

I am Ashish Gupta student of B.A. LL.B (Hons.) CPJCHS & SOL, New Delhi Affiliated to GGSIPU, Delhi. I participated in 1st Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam National Legal Essay Competition - 2016 organised by ProBono India in association with Skillfull India (An Initiative of Vision of Tomorrow Charitable Trust, NGO). At the outset It was a great experience! Taking part in this competition helped me to understand the topic, Legal Education, from a very different view. It is apparent that legal education has a significant role to play in the establishment of law-abiding society. The essay competition exposed me to something new, and it pushed me beyond what I thought. It is very great for the students to participate in it. I will encourage the students to take part next year. At last, I would like to say thank you ProBono India.

R Vigneshwaran

Student of Tamil Nadu National Law School, Tiruchirappalli

Experience :

I am R. Vigneshwaran Student of Tamil Nadu National Law School, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. I participated in 1st Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Legal Essay Competition 2016 and secured 3rd position in it. First it is to bring to all the individuals’ perusal that the Competition organising way was outstanding and every time when I ask them doubts they replied me patently without any hesitation. So hands off to the organising committee and it does not seem to me that it was their 1st essay competition for them and really it was such as pleasure participating in it.

To share my experience, first of all I should thank my friend who actually initiated and triggered me to participate in it and encouraged me that you have such a big potential and you will sure deserve a win in it and I marked his words strongly and started to work very next day. And for me personally the topic seems to be very attractive, I liked to bring a change in the current legal system because students of National Law School and other private law colleges students are bit intelligent in all the way comparatively and only few students shine well and rest is sorrow.

“So many students are lacking behind bars because of one of the primary reason that education lacks, the infrastructure lacks, the quality of teaching lacks, the quality of teachers lacks and many more lacks and they lacks turns out to be lakhs and lakhs very year.”

So I put myself and worked so hard to bring out a quality essay, so that it changes the minds of the readers to solve issues and challenges faced by the Legal Education in India. So hope within 5-10 years the entire legal system changes. Waiting in levels.
