Child Rights vis-a-vis Child Abuse

Our children are tomorrow\'s citizens. They are the future of a country. Nevertheless, they are persecuted in an age of innocence. Child sexual exploitation is such a pervasive occurrence in Indian culture, too horrific and still totally unknown. “Children” are the neediest of every community and require "security", as well as the responsibility of the State and the representatives of society. Such weakness has made them the cobblestones of civilization. Recent times have seen drastic changes in the social structure of the words \'children\' and \'childhood.\' The passage from childhood to adulthood is full of unprecedented abuse against children as well as by children. This article deals with such abuses that are conducted against the children by the Society, knowingly or unknowingly. The research has been conducted on the types of Child Abuses prevalent in the contemporary world with relevant data from ILO, WHO, UNESCO, and such other organizations. This paper describes the physical, sexual, and emotional abuse against the children by the perpetrators and the affect these abuses have on a child. The paper also focuses on the rights a child has against these perpetrators. These rights mainly arise from the constitution of a nation, various national and international legislations, and several treaties that can be or cannot be ratified by a Country. The researcher at the end also mentioned several recommendations.
