The paper focuses on juvenile or a child, i.e., a person below the age of 18 years. Over the years the laws regarding the juvenile have faced changes because of various factors affecting them and also due to the rise in the number of delinquents. The crimes often committed by the juvenile are petty cases without serious affects. But there are cases where it turns out to be extremely brutal and heinous in nature like Nirbhaya’s case which led to the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 amendment. The aftermath of the amendment and current scenario also plays a major role in juvenile justice system. This paper focuses on the relation of juvenile justice in India and the effect of criminal law on it.
